Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid Certification Classes |

AquaSafe offers complete Lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid classes conducted by our American Red Cross certified instructors. The purpose of the lifeguarding course is to teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to respond to aquatic emergencies and prevent drowning and injuries. |

Lifeguarding Course Prerequisites: |
- Be a minimum of 15 years of age by the last day of the course attended;
- Be able to attend all training classes which are approximately thirty five (30-37) hours;
- Be able to swim 300 yards continuously (without stopping) using the following strokes: 100 yards of the front crawl using rhythmic breathing and a stabilizing propellant kick, 100 yards of breaststroke, 100 yards of either front crawl using rhythmic breathing or breaststroke or a combination of both;
- Starting in the water, must be able to swim 20 yards, surface dive to depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object and return it to the surface and swim back to the starting point while maintaining two hands on the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute, 40 seconds; (wearing goggles is not allowed);
- Be able to tread water for 2 minutes without using their arms;

- Injury prevention and facility safety
- Patron surveillance
- Rescue skills
- Victim assessment
- First Aid
- CPR/AED
- Care for head, neck and spinal injuries
